Kia KY, the upcoming three-row model from the South Korean automaker, is all set to make its world debut on 16th December 2021. Its production version is likely to be named Kia Carens as the company recently trademarked the nameplate in India. The model will see a release in early 2022. After the Seltos, Carnival and Sonet, it will be the fourth offering from Kia in the country. Ahead of its official arrival, we have seen multiple spy images of the new Kia 6//7-seater car.
Recently, its first interior images have been leaked on the web. The spotted model seems to be mid-level variant featuring an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and instrument cluster that appears similar to the Hyundai Verna. One must note that the Kia KY (Kia Carens) higher trims will receive bigger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit. Interestingly, it will be the first car in the country to offer 6 USB-C charging ports for all three row occupants.

The new Kia three-row model will have Kia’s UVO connected car technology, over 50 internet connected smart features and touch-style controls for infotainment, climate control and cruise control. In fact, there will be one-touch button to access the third row seats. While the lower and mid-level trims will have fabric seats, the higher trims will offer leatherette upholstery. Kia KY (Kia Carens) 6/7-seater car is likely to share its engines and gearboxes with the Seltos SUV. There will be the 1.4L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel motors delivering power worth 140bhp and 115bhp respectively. It can be had with either manual or automatic gearbox. Prices of the new Kia three-row car are likely to start from Rs 15 lakh and go up to Rs 20 lakh. More details on the upcoming Kia 6/7-seater model might revealed in coming weeks.
