The South Korean automaker is all set to unveil the new Kia KY 6/7-seater vehicle on December 16, 2021. The company says that it will be “a Recreational Vehicle that will redefine family commuting”. The new Kia model will see a release in early next year. While the carmaker hasn’t yet revealed official name and details of the vehicle, it could be the Seltos-based three-row MPV or SUV. Recently, Kia India registered Kia Carens nameplate in the country. It’s likely to be used for the fourth upcoming Kia offering.
Kia KY Exterior
As mention above, the Kia Carens will share its underpinning with the Seltos . Most of its design elements are likely to be derived from the Seltos and Sonet SUVs. The spy images suggest that the upcoming Kia 6/7-seater model will look similar to the Seltos until the B-pillar. Though, it has much bigger rear door and glasshouse and sits on a longer wheelbase. The overall length of the vehicle will be around 4.5 meters. Upfront, it will carry the brand’s signature Tiger Nose grille and sleek LED headlamps inspired by the Sonet. The three-row model will be equipped with 5-spoke, 16-inch alloy wheels along with a floating roof and taillamps with LED inserts.
Kia KY Interior
Interior is upcoming Kia Carens might share resemblance to the Seltos. Though, it will come with 6 and 7-seats configurations with better legroom space for the third row seat occupants. On the feature front, the new Kia family car might offer a touchscreen infotainment system with latest smartphone connectivity, ambient lighting, Kia UVO connected car tech, sunroof and separate AC controls and curtains for the middle row occupants. Kia KY Engine Options
Kia Carens might be made available with the 2.0L naturally aspirated petrol and 1.5L diesel engines delivering power worth 159bhp with 191Nm and 115bhp with 250Nm respectively. Both powertrains do duty in the Seltos SUV. Transmission options on offer could be a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque convertor automatic unit.
