Kia India Hits Milestone: 1 Million Cars & Future Vision

Kia India has reached a significant milestone by producing its one millionth vehicle, the first unit of the new Seltos facelift, at its Anantapur facility. The event was graced by esteemed guests, including Mr. Buggana Rajendranath Reddy, Hon’ble Minister for Finance, Planning and Legislative Affairs, Mr. Gudivada Amarnath, Hon’ble Minister of Industries, Infrastructure, Investment & Commerce, Information Technology, Mr. Gorantla Madhav, and Mr. G Sankaranarayana, Hon’ble Member of the Legislative Assembly from Penukonda.

Kia entered the Indian market in August 2019 with the launch of the Kia Seltos. The SUV quickly gained popularity for its urban styling, premium quality, and efficient powertrains. Kia India expanded its product portfolio by introducing the Sonet sub-4 metre SUV, Carnival luxury MPV in 2020, and Carens MPV and EV6 electric crossover in 2022. In terms of production numbers, Kia India has manufactured over 532,450 units of the Seltos (for both domestic and export markets), 332,450 units of the Sonet, 120,516 units of the Carens, and 14,584 units of the Carnival.

During the event, Kia India also revealed its vision for the future, focusing on “Inspiring Mobility Solutions that Enrich Lives.” This vision is supported by Kia’s 2.0 transformation strategy, which aims to achieve a 10% market share through the introduction of new models and customer-centric innovations. The company plans to expand its sales network from 300+ touchpoints to over 600 showrooms.

In addition to the milestone celebration, Kia India has opened bookings for the new 2023 Kia Seltos across the country. The mid-life updated SUV offers an array of enhancements, including 32 safety features, Level 2 ADAS technology, a panoramic sunroof, a new fully digital instrument cluster, and subtle styling improvements. The new Seltos is available with three engine options: a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.5L turbo petrol, and a 1.5L turbo diesel.
