The Jeep Compass 2021 has finally been revealed at the 2020 Guangzhou International Motor Show in China. The new model comes with revised exterior and interior along with some mechanical upgrades. It is reported that the production of the right-hand-drive Compass will commence at FCA’s Ranjangaon facility in Maharashtra by the end of this year.

The company will start producing this model for export markets, as FCA India’s Ranjangaon facility act as a production hub for right-hand-drive markets. The Jeep Compass 2021 will be launched in the Indian market in the first half of 2021, most probably in April-June.

In terms of styling, the Jeep Compass 2021 comes with seven-slat chrome grille with honeycomb-like inserts, revised headlamps with integrated LED DRLs and new bumper that accommodates larger air dam and new fog lamp housing, and revised faux skid plate. It rides on newly-styled alloy wheels; however, the side profile remains the same.

Inside the cabin, the Compass facelift gets all-new dashboard dominated by a large, floating 10.1-inch touchscreen with FCA’s UConnect 5 infotainment system, new AC vents and HVAC controls. The infotainment system will be compatible with Amazon Alexa, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and over-the-air updates. The dashboard has double-stitched leather upholstery and brushed-aliminium trim. It sports new 3-spoke steering wheel, and full digital instrument console, light-grey leather seats and panoramic sunroof.

2021 Jeep Compass Interior

The top-spec Compass Trailhawk version comes with new front bumper, blacked-out front grille, red/black decal on the bonnet with signature tow hooks in the front bumper. This variant also gets completely revised dashboard with leather inserts and double stitching, which further enhance its premium appeal.

Thanks to the new bumpers, the 2021 Jeep Compass facelift is 29mm longer and 17mm taller than the previous model. However, the wheelbase of the new model remains the same at 2,636mm. While the global model is available with new set of engines, the India-spec Compass is likely to retain the existing 163bhp, 1.4L turbo petrol and 173bhp, 2.0L turbo-diesel engines. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual, a 7-speed DCT (Petrol) and 9-speed automatic (Diesel).
