Jawa Motorcycles Get Expensive By Up To Rs 8,700

Jawa has announced to increase the prices of its motorcycle range in the country. Most of the two wheeler brands including Royal Enfield, Hero MotoCorp, Suzuki, Bajaj Auto, Yamaha and KTM have already raised prices of their motorcycles.

The brand’s flagship and most expensive motorcycle, the Jawa Perak, receives a big price hike of Rs 8,700. It is now available at a price tag of Rs 2.06 lakh (from 1.97 lakh). The dual-channel ABS version of the Jawa Forty Two has also received a big price hike. This variant was launched in India earlier this year.

2021 Jawa 42

The Jawa Forty Two dual-channel ABS model is now retailed at Rs 1.91 lakh, which is an increase of around Rs 7,000. The motorcycle was launched at Rs 1.84 lakh in February 2021. The standard spoke wheel-equipped Forty Two and the Jawa Classic receive a price hike of Rs 1,000.

The 2021 Jawa Forty Two and Classic are powered by the same BS6-compliant 293cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. Paired to a 6-speed gearbox, this liquid-cooled engine has been tuned to produce 26.51bhp of power and 27Nm of torque. The Jawa Perak comes with a more powerful 30bhp, 344cc engine, which is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. Suspension setup includes telescopic forks up front and dual shocks suspension unit at the rear. For braking, the bike gets disc brakes along with dual-channel ABS. The standard Forty Two and Classic gets rear drum brake and single-channel ABS.

Jawa Motorcycles has launched a special edition Jawa to celebrate India’s victory over Pakistan in the 1971 war as part of the Swarnim Vijay Varsh. The Jawa Special Edition is offered in two colour options – Khakhi and Midnight Grey. The company said that the new colours are inspired by armed forces. The Jawa Special Edition is available at a price tag of Rs 1.93 lakh (ex-showroom).
