Classic Legends has recently launched the new Jawa 42 2.1 with updated engine and some visual changes. Jawa Motorcycles is celebrating India’s victory over Pakistan in the 1971 war as part of the Swarnim Vijay Varsh. To celebrate this occassion, Classic Legends has launched a special edition Jawa motorcycle in India.
The Jawa Special Edition is offered in two colour options – Khakhi and Midnight Grey. The company said that the new colours are inspired by armed forces. The Jawa Special Edition is available at a price tag of Rs 1.93 lakh (ex-showroom).
Besides new colour options, the Jawa Special Edition comes with an exclusive commemorative emblem that has the Indian Army’s insignia with ‘laurel wreath’ on either side. The motorcycle also comes with a blackened theme for cycle parts. Black finish can be seen around the engine area, dual exhaust pipes, headlamp casing and wheels.
Classic Legends claims that the exhaust and chassis have been updated for higher ground clearance. The seat has also been revised for enhanced comfort. These changes are also offered on the entire Jawa range. The Special Edition is only available with a dual-channel ABS system.
The new Jawa Special Edition is powered by the same 293cc single-cylinder fuel-injected liquid-cooled DOHC engine paired to a six-speed gearbox. This engine is capable of producing 27bhp of maximum power at 6,800rpm and a peak torque of 27.02Nm at 5,000rpm.
Yezdi Re-Launch
Classic Legends will also re-introduce the iconic Yezdi brand in the country before the end of 2021. The company is likely to launch a new Scrambler based on the Jawa platform, and is reportedly to be called the Yezdi Roadking. Not just platform, the motorcycle will also share the engine specifications with Jawa.
