November 2020 has been a good month for the Indian automobile industry. Most of the car manufacturers registered positive sales growth, thanks to the festive season. Maruti Suzuki continued to dominate the market with total sales of 1,35,775 units, followed by Hyundai (48,800 units), Tata Motors (21,640 units) and Kia Motors (21,022 units). Talking about the SUV segment, the new Hyundai Creta leads the race with total sales of 12,017 units against 6,684 units of the same month last year. It registered 80% sales growth. The newly-launched Kia Sonet managed to outnumber all its arch rivals with sales of 11,417 units. It was also the second top-selling SUV in the country. The Hyundai Venue recorded sales of 9,265 units and the Kia Seltos clocked total sales of 9,205 units.
The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza (7,838 units), Tata Nexon (6,021 units) and Mahindra XUV300 (4,458 units) grabbed the fifth, sixth and seventh spots respectively. With total sales of 3,725 units, the Mahindra Scorpio SUV managed to secure the eighth spot in the list. While the MG Hector (3,436 units) was the ninth top-selling SUV last month, the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross stood at tenth position. Read – Top 5 New 7-Seater SUV Launches in 2021
In November 2020, the MUV (Multi Utility Vehicle) segment witnessed 3% growth with total sales of 26,667 units. With total sales of 9,557 units, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga continued to top the chart. While the Mahindra Bolero (6,055 units) was the second top-selling MUV, the Renault Triber secured the third spot with sales of 4,809 units. Maruti Suzuki’s XL6 stood at number four with total sales of 3,388 units. The Toyota Innova Crysta, which was the fifth top-selling MUV last month, recorded total sales of 2,192 units.
