Hyundai, Tata, Toyota Launches in August – 3 SUVs, 1 MPV

August 2023 is gearing up to be an exciting month for new car launches in India, with Hyundai, Tata, and Toyota introducing some interesting models. Let’s take a closer look at the key features of the upcoming SUVs and MPV:

Hyundai Creta/Alcazar Adventure Editions

Hyundai Creta Adventure Edition

Hyundai is set to launch Adventure Editions of the Creta and Alcazar SUVs, featuring cosmetic enhancements over their regular models. Both SUVs are expected to receive a black-out treatment on the front and rear bumpers, wing mirrors, roof rails, and alloy wheels. They will be offered in a new Ranger Khaki color scheme, similar to the new Exter micro SUV. The interior will also feature blacked-out elements and might include contrast stitching for the upholstery. The special editions will sport ‘Adventure Edition’ badges on the door sills and seat headrests. There will be no mechanical changes to the SUVs.

Tata Punch CNG

The Tata Punch will mark the brand’s fourth CNG model, slated to arrive in the coming weeks. It will feature Tata’s dual-cylinder technology, as seen in the Altroz CNG. The twin cylinders will be cleverly placed under the boot floor to ensure minimal intrusion into the storage space. The Punch CNG will be powered by the same 1.2L, 3-cylinder petrol engine paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. With the CNG setup, it will deliver a maximum power of 77bhp and 97Nm of torque. The vehicle will sport an ‘i-CNG’ badge on the tailgate, and the CNG kit is expected to be offered across the entire model lineup.

Toyota Rumion

The Toyota Rumion, already available in the South African market, is set to make its debut in India in August 2023. The MPV will undergo a few cosmetic changes, featuring Toyota’s signature trapezoidal grille, similar to the Innova. The front bumper will be newly-designed, and diamond-cut alloy wheels will add a touch of elegance. Inside, the steering wheel will bear Toyota’s logo, and the dashboard will be all-black. Under the hood, the new Toyota compact MPV will be equipped with a 1.5L, 4-cylinder petrol engine, offering a choice of a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The engine will produce a peak power of 103bhp and 138Nm of torque.
