Hyundai Palisade Released In Indonesia – India Next?

After introducing in Australia, Hyundai has released the full-size Palisade 7-seater SUV in Indonesia. It is the most luxurious and largest SUV from Hyundai, which is also rumoured to be launched in India. The Hyundai Palisade was originally planned for North American markets; however, the rising demand for SUVs prompted Hyundai to bring this product in other right-hand-drive markets as well.

The Hyundai Palisade is a full-size SUV measuring close to 5 meters in length. In terms of proportions, the flagship Hyundai SUV is 4,980mm in length, 1,975mm in width and 1,750mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,900mm. The Palisade is available as 7- and 8-seater SUV, which will rival the MG Gloster. For people not in the know, Kia’s flagship SUV – the Telluride is also based on the Palisade platform.

The styling of the Hyundai Palisade is inspired by the HDC-2 Grandmaster concept. The SUV features LED headlamps with two vertically stacked projector headlamps and extended bonnet. It features Hyundai’s signature cascading grille, LED turn-signal mirrors, bold C-pillars, large 20-inch alloys, panoramic rear glass and vertical LED rear tail-lamp design. In the international markets, the Palisade is available in 7-and 8-seat configurations, but the Indonesian-spec model is available as a 7-seater. The SUV comes equipped with dual sunroofs, along with heated and cooled seats. It comes fitted with an 8-inch touchscreen display with infotainment supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. In terms of features, the SUV gets 3-zone climate control, wireless charging, USB charging ports for second row, 10-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, ventilated rear seats and smart power tailgate.

For safety and security, the SUV gets Blind-Spot collision warning, Safe Exit Assist, 6 airbags, front and rear parking sensors, along with rear cross-traffic collision warning. The Indonesian-spec Hyundai Palisade is powered by a 2.2-litre CRDi 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that is capable of producing 197bhp of power and 440Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The SUV offers 4 drive modes – COMFORT, ECO, SPORT, SMART and 3 terrain modes – SNOW, MUD and SAND. 

The entry-level Hyundai Palisade Prime FWD is available at a price of 777 million Rupiah (Approx INR 40.41 lakh). The Signature FWD variant is available at 888 million Rupiah (approx INR 46.5 lakh), while the top-end Signature AWD variant costs 1.078 billion Rupiah (approx INR 56.24 lakh)
