Korean automaker, Hyundai is evaluating the new Palisade 8 seater SUV for the Indian market. The SUV is already on sale in select international markets. Hyundai has already started working on the right-hand-drive version of the Palisade, which will be launched in the Australia and other RHD markets. The SUV could also be introduced in our market as a flagship Hyundai model. The Hyundai Palisade is equipped with several high-end features and here is a list of top 10 features that this SUV offers –

1. Two-Speed Powered Boot Opener

Hyundai is offering the Palisade owners the control over the speed with which the liftgate or boot opens. User can set the liftgate to open quickly in 4.5 seconds or normally in 6.0 seconds. This feature helps owners to adjust the speed of opening of liftgate based on their preferences.

2. Hyundai BlueLink

Similar to the Hyundai’s modern cars and SUVs, the full-sized Palisade SUV also gets the much-talked BlueLink connected car technology with several high-end features. This system controls important features like seat ventilation control, sunroof open/close, climate control, air-intake type control, etc. The SUV also provides in-vehicle assistance, geo fencing, live location and others.

The new Palisade is equipped with a new roof vent diffuser than can offer different levels of accurate climate control. This system diffused air (direct, partially and fully) according to the rear passengers need to increase comfort.

If rear occupants don’t want to listen music or wanted some peace and quet during long rides and driver wants to listen music, the Hyundai Palisde stereo system offers Quite mode functions that mutes the rear speakers on demand. Hyundai has added a one-button function to the rear seat of the Palisade, which makes entry to third row easy. With a press of button, the seatback tilts and slides forward to create enough space to enter the third-row seats. Interestingly, there are two buttons to access the third row of seats. The button is mounted low on the side of the seat cushion is for the kids, while the other is placed on the top for the adults.

6. Blind Spot Monitoring

The Hyundai Palisade also gets a fully digital gauge cluster, which displays the video feed of the blind spot on the side on the switching on of the turn signal. This same feature is available with Honda Civic, called the LaneWatch system, which only works on the right side. However, the Palisade’s blind spot detection works for both sides of the vehicle.

7. Retractable Cupholders

The Palisade’s cup holder in the central tunnel can be accessed electrically. The cup holders come out from hidden compartments at the press of a button. When not in use, these cup holders can be removed to create large space to store regular stuff.

8. 8-Seater and Big SUV

The Hyundai Palisade SUV can seat up to 8 adults. It is available in both 7 and 8-seat options. While the 7-seater model gets captain seats for the second, the 8-seater model gets bench-type seats for the second and third row.

In terms of proportions, the Hyundai Palisade is 4,980mm in length, 1,975mm in width and 1,750mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,900mm. The SUV offers a luggage carrying capacity of 509-litres with all seats in place. The boot space can be extended up to 2,447-litres by folding the rear seats.

9. Engine Specifications

It is powered by a 3.8-litre V6 GDI petrol engine that also powers the Kia Telluride. This engine churns out 292bhp of power and 355Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the wheels via an electronically controlled eight-speed automatic gearbox. Front-wheel-drive layout comes as standard, while all-wheel-drive system is available as optional. The India-spec model will receive the 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine that is capable of producing 200bhp of power and 441Nm of torque.

10. Touchscreen Infotainment System

The Palisade is equipped with user-friendly infotainment system, which is one of the most advanced in its segment. It features a 10.25-inch touchscreen display and a 630-watt Harman/Kardon surround sound system. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Voice control and Navigation are available as standard.
