Hyundai, Kia Car Sales January 2023 – Domestic, Exports

Hyundai Motor India registered total sales of 50,106 units against 44,022 units in the corresponding month previous year, accounting a YoY growth of 13.82 percent. The company’s MoM sales growth increased by 29.04 percent, from 38,831 units retailed in December 2022. Its export sales figure stood at 12,170 units as opposed to 9,405 units in the same month previous year. It accounted 29.40 percent sales growth. The cumulative sales (including domestic and exports) stood at 62,276 units against 53,427 units in January 2022, clocked 16.56 percent growth.

With total sales of 28,637, Kia India recorded growth of 48.22 percent as opposed to 19,319 units retailed in January 2022. Its highest ever monthly sales achieved by the South Korean automaker in India. Compared to December 2022 sales that stood at 15,184 units, the carmaker registered a MoM growth of 88.58 percent. The Kia Seltos remained the top-selling model with total sales of 10,470 units, followed by Sonet (9,261 units), Carens (7,900 units) and Carnival (1,003 units).

Hyundai’s Upcoming Models

Hyundai will soon roll out the updated Venue with a more powerful 1.5L diesel engine and feature rejig. The new-generation Hyundai Verna will also come in the second half of 2023. The sedan will receive significant cosmetic and feature upgrades, while the engine setup will remain intact. Though, it might get the 1.0L turbo petrol engine. It will also grow in size and have more cabin space to offer. Rumour has it that the company is working on a micro SUV that might arrive during this year’s festive season.

Kia’s Upcoming Models

Kia confirmed the new KA4 three-row MPV for India, which is essentially the fourth-generation Carnival with SUV-ish stance. If reports are to be believed, the Kia Seltos facelift will also hit roads sometime this year. The SUV will come with the ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) along with a new digital instrument console, automatic AC, an electronic braking brake and a panoramic sunroof.
