Hyundai Ioniq 5 India Debut & Booking Details – Expected Price

Hyundai Ioniq 5, the upcoming electric crossover from the South Korean automaker, will make its India debut on 20th December, 2023. The carmaker will start accepting its bookings on the same day. While its prices will be announced next month (i.e. January), we expect it to cost up to Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom). Here, it will be imported as a CBU (Completely Built-Up Unit). The new Hyundai electric car has been built on the E-GMP (Electric Global Modular Platform) architecture that’s especially designed for battery electric vehicles for Hyundai Motor Group. The same platform underpins the Kia EV6.

Official specifications of the new Hyundai electric crossover are yet to be revealed. Though, it’s likely to come with two battery pack options – a 72.6kWh and a 58kWh – delivering a range of around 384km and 481km respectively. Similar to the global version, the India-spec model could be offered with RWD and AWD drivetrain options. The EV’s range-topping variant has a dual-motor, AWD setup that returns a claimed power of 306bhp and 605Nm of torque. It can accelerate 0 to 100kmph in 5.2 seconds and offer a top speed of 185kmph.

The Ioniq 5 with 58kWh battery pack and a single motor promises power worth 169bhp. It can do 0 to 100kmph in 8.5 seconds. It comes with RWD system. The new Hyundai electric crossover supports 800V battery technology enabling it for ultra-rapid charging. Similar to Hyundai’s new-age models, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 will have ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) suite. It will offer safety features such as adaptive cruise control, automated emergency braking, lane keep and departure aid and blind spot monitoring system. The EV will be equipped with a 12.3-inch infotainment system and driver displays, a 360 degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, V2L (Vehicle 2 Load) features and more.
