The South Korean automaker has finally introduced its first electric car in the country – the Kia EV6. Being a CBU (Completely Built Unit) model, the electric crossover has been priced at Rs 59.95 lakh and Rs 64.95 lakh for the RWD and AWD variant respectively. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom India. Deliveries will begin in early September, 2022.

– It will be sold exclusively via 15 select Kia dealerships across 12 cities in India. Only 100 units of the EV6 have been allocated to India for this year.
– One can book the EV6 by paying an initial sum of Rs 3 lakh online on the company’s website. Booking cancellation will cost you Rs 50,000, while the rest amount will be refunded.
– The new Kia EV6 has been designed on the brand’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) that will also be used in the future Kia electric car range.
– Powertrain setup of the electric crossover includes a 77.4kWh lithium-ion battery pack that can be had with either RWD or AWD setup.
– While its RWD version with a single motor delivers power around 226bhp and the AWD variant with dual-motor setup promises power worth 321bhp.
– Kia claims that its new EV6 electric crossover is capable to offer range up to 528km (WLTP cycle) in the RWD and 425km in the AWD. There are multiple driving modes, namely, Normal, Sport and Eco. The model comes with the smart regenerative braking system.
– The carmaker provides two charging options with the EV6 – a 150kWh and a 350kWh. While the former takes 42 minutes to charge its battery pack from 10% to 80% and the latter can do the same in 18 minutes.
– On the feature front, the Kia EV6 offers a dual 12.3-inch curved displays, 14 speaker Meridian Sound System, Augmented Reality (AR) head-up display, electric sunroof, powered tailgate, Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), connected car tech, electronically adjustable seats, 8 airbags, electronic stability program, hill hold assist and more.
