The South Korean carmaker is all set to introduce its N Line range of cars in India. The first N-Line badged model will be the i20 N Line that’s slated to debut on 24th August, followed by its launch in September 2021. The carmaker says that its N Line range “is designed with a focus on exterior and interior design enhancements, giving consumers a true motorsport inspired feeling each time they drive”. As per the leaked information, the upcoming Hyundai i20 N Line will be offered in three variants – N6 iMT, N8 iMT and N8 DCT. Powering the hot hatch will be a 1.0L, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that’s good enough for 120bhp and 172Nm. It can be had with either a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox. The same powertrain does duty in the standard i20. However, the tweaked suspension setup and sportier exhaust note give it a sportier character.
The Hyundai i20 N Line, which is essentially the sportier version of the standard model, will carry several enhancements inside and out. Upfront, the hot hatch will feature a differently designed bumper, grille with ‘chequered flag’ pattern, deep set fog lamps and front skirts. Design elements such as the larger alloy wheels, side skirts, revised rear bumper with pronounced rear diffuser, blacked-out elements and twin exhaust pipes add more to its sportier looks. Buyers will have four colour options to choose from. Inside the cabin, the hot hatch will have prominent N badging and contrast red stitching. Other key highlights will include an N branded leather gear knob, sporty front seats, metal pedals and a bespoke steering wheel.
