Korean automaker, Hyundai is gearing up for the launch of the much-awaited Alcazar SUV. The SUV launch has been pushed to late May 2021 due to rising COVID-19 cases. The company will also introduce the N Line sub-brand in the Indian market this year, and the i20 N Line will be its first product.
The new Hyundai i20 N Line has recently been caught testing on the Faridabad-Ballabgarh highway. For people not in the know, the Research and Development centre of Hyundai is located in Faridabad. The hatchback was covered with thick cover and was doing speeds in excess of 100kmph. It is expected that the brand is testing the vehicle’s high-speed stability.
The spotted i20 N Line had camouflage on the front bumper and rear bumper. The new model will have aggressive front and rear bumpers. The hatchback will have a more prominent front grille, which has patterns inspired by chequered flag. This emphasizing the all-new i20 N Line’s track-inspired look. The global model has triangular shaped fog lamp and chrome twin muffler exhaust system, which makes it look different from the regular i20. The hatchback will get side skirts and new 17-inch alloy wheels.
The hatchback’s ORVMs will be painted in black, while the roof will have a body colour. The cabin of the hatchback is likely to get N-branded sporty seats with the N logo and exclusive red stitching as well as a dedicated N steering wheel. The hatchback could get metal pedals and the leather N gear shift knob with red inserts.
The Hyundai i20 N Line will be powered by a 1.0-litre T-GDI petrol engine. This 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine churns out 118bhp of power and 172Nm of torque. Transmission options could include a 7-speed DCT and a 6-speed iMT. The new i20 N Line is expected to be refined in terms of suspension, engine response and exhaust sound. Similar to the global model, the hatchback could receive a 48-volt mild hybrid technology.
