Hyundai Alcazar Launch Delayed; Prices To Be Released By May-End

Hyundai has postponed the launch of the much-awaited Alcazar 7-seater SUV due to rising coronavirus cases. The prices of the new model will now be released in the end of May 2021. The SUV was earlier planned to be launched on April 29, 2021.

The 3-row Hyundai Alcazar is basically the bigger and premium version of the Creta. It shares the platform and some design highlights from the Creta; however, the platform has been modified to accommodate a larger wheelbase. The Alcazar will have a wheelbase of 2,760mm, which is 150mm more than that of the Creta’s wheelbase. In fact, the Alcazar wheelbase is 19mm and 10mm higher than the Tata Safari and the MG Hector respectively. This suggests that the new Alcazar won’t be a compromised model, and will offer good space inside the cabin.

The captain seats will have one-touch tumble function to access the third-row. The 7-seater version will have 60:40 split second-row seats.

Hyundai has announced that the new Alcazar SUV will come with a bigger capacity petrol engine, which is a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder engine. It is the same engine that powers the Elantra sedan and the Tucson SUV; however, it is tuned for slightly higher power. This engine produces 152bhp of power and 192Nm of torque. The petrol Alcazar is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph in under 10 seconds.  Also See – Hyundai Alcazar Vs Mahindra XUV500
