We reported earlier that Hyundai is contemplating the Genesis luxury saloon for the Indian market. The sedan has recently been showcased at the 2014 Autocar Professional Show. This saloon was displayed to gauge response of visitors before introducing the vehicle in India.
Folks at Turbos and Pistonz have managed to click the Hyundai Genesis in Chennai, where Hyundai India has its manufacturing unit. It reports are to be believed, a total of three sedans were imported in India and the spotted vehicle features a standard registration plate.
Hyundai will launch the sedan as a flagship saloon and it measures 4,990mm in length, 1,890mm in width, and 1,480mm in height. It is offered in four petrol engines including a 3.0-litre unit producing 253bhp, a 3.3-litre motor that is good for 278bhp, a 3.8-litre that churns out a maximum power output of 310bhp and the range topping 5.0-litre V8 motor that produces 425bhp. The spotted vehicle was powered by a 3.8-litre motor.
The standard model comes with a rear wheel drive structure, while the range-topic model features an all-wheel drive system. It is equipped with advanced features including Blue Link Telematics, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Keeping Assist, Head-up Display, etc.
