Hyundai Exter – Price Expectations, Variant Details  

Hyundai Motor India will soon mark its entry in the micro SUV space with the Exter that’s scheduled to go on sale on 10th July 2023. We already have its variant and engine details. In fact, the carmaker has revealed list of its safety features that includes several segment-first fitments. The Hyundai Exter model lineup will include a total of 15 variants (8 petrol manual, 5 petrol automatic and 2 CNG), spread across six trims – EX, EX (O), S, S (O), SX and SX (O) Connect.

Engine bay has a 1.2L petrol engine that’s good enough for 83bhp and 114Nm. One can opt between a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox. The CNG version will have a factory-fitted CNG kit with the same 1.2L petrol engine. The CNG setup will offer power close to 69bhp and 95.2Nm of torque. Save for the EX trim, all trims get an AMT unit.

The new Hyundai micro SUV can be had in 6 monotone exterior colours – Ranger Khaki, Starry Night, Cosmic Blue, Atlas White, Titan Grey and Fiery Red. Buyers can also choose dual-tone shade with the Cosmic Blue, Atlas White and Ranger Khaki shades. One must note that the dual-tone colours are reserved for the petrol variants.

If you are among interested buyers, the Hyundai Exter can be pre-booked by paying a token sum of Rs 11,000 at any authorized dealership. It will be the smallest and most affordable SUV offering from Hyundai India. While its price will be announced next month, the mini SUV is likely to be priced from Rs 6 lakh for the entry-level EX manual variant. The range-topping SX (O) Connect AMT is expected to cost around Rs 10 lakh. If launched at aforementioned price point, the new Hyundai micro SUV will take on multiple cars right from the Tata Punch (direct rival) and Maruti Suzuki Fronx to Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite and some premium hatchbacks.
