Kia India is all set to introduce the heavily revised version of the Seltos SUV in our market by July or August this year. The 2023 Kia Seltos facelift has already been spotted testing multiple times on the Indian roads. The updated version of the SUV is already on sale in select international markets including South Korea and the U.S.A. It will come with revised styling and an upgraded interior along with a new turbo petrol engine.
Kia will also introduce the updated version of the X-Line variant, which is likely to receive a new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine. The new model will come with design changes inspired from the global-spec model. The front fascia of the SUV will have a revised grille that’s larger in size and has a new mesh pattern. It features the signature ‘Tiger Nose’ design; however, the newly-styled LED daytime running lamps are now positioned within the grille.
The headlamps retain the original shape; however, it has new internals with revised LED DRLs. It gets a newly styled bumper that accommodates new central air-dam and fog lamp housings. The heavily revised rear has new vertically stacked tail-lamps connected via a light bar. The SUV will have new tailgate and new dual-tone finish rear bumper with repositioned reflectors and a faux skid plate. The SUV will ride on newly styled 17-inch alloy wheels.
Instead of the separate screens, the new 2023 Kia Seltos will come with a new twin, connected screen layout for the instrument console and infotainment unit. To accommodate the new twin-screen display, Kia India has to update the dashboard layout. It will have a new digital driver display and a new infotainment touchscreen with better interface and connectivity option. Similar to the global model, the new Seltos will have slimmer central air-con vents and a revised buttons for the HVAC controls.
The SUV will have a new centre console with a rotary drive selector for the automatic variants. The spy images also confirm that the new Seltos will come with a factory-fitted panoramic sunroof, which was missing in the outgoing model. The SUV is also expected to receive ADAS tech with features like autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, lane assist and others.
The 2023 Kia Seltos will retain the existing 114bhp, 1.5L naturally-aspirated petrol and a 114bhp, 1.5L turbo diesel engines. Both manual and automatic gearbox options will be on offer. Instead of the 1.4L turbo petrol engine, the new Seltos will receive a new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine that produces 158bhp and 253Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
