Hyundai Motor India has revealed safety features of its upcoming Exter micro SUV that will go on sale in coming months (possibly in July or August 2023). The carmaker says that it’s “an unparalleled bouquet of advanced and standard safety features”. The Hyundai Exter will be the first subcompact SUV in India to offer 6 airbags as standard safety fitment. It’s also the first vehicle in its segment to come with tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), electronic stability control (ESC), hill assist control (HAC), vehicle stability management (VSM), dashcam with dual camera and burglar alarm.
The carmaker has equipped the all-new Exter with over 40 advanced safety features including Isofix, rear parking camera, headlamp escort function and more. All variants of the micro SUV offer 26 safety fitments and as an option on entry-level E and S trims. The list includes keyless entry, 3-point seat belt and seatbelt reminder for all seats, rear parking sensors, antilock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD and emergency signal system (ESS).
The Exter micro SUV will be made available in EX, S, SX, SX (O) and SX (O) Connect trims. As the name suggests, the range-topping SX (O) Connect trim will offer connected car features. Hyundai has confirmed that it will come with the two engine options – 1.2L petrol and 1.2L petrol with CNG kit.
