Hyundai Creta Facelift, Electric Models – Launch Timeline

Hyundai Creta is the top-selling model from the South Korean automaker in the country. Last year, the company sold a total of 552,511 units of the SUV including 140,895 units in the domestic market. Maintaining its sales momentum, the Creta recorded 15,037 units and 10,421 units in January and February 2023 respectively.

In order to further boost its sales, the carmaker is ready to introduce its updated version in 2024. Just so you know, the new Creta facelift made its first appearance at the GIIAS 2021 Motor Show. Besides the mid-life update, Hyundai will bring in its electric iteration sometime in 2025. In fact, the carmaker has started testing the Hyundai Creta EV in the country. The updated Creta receives a new parametric grille, tweaked front bumper, more rectangular headlamps with LED DRLs, wider air-inlet and taillamp clusters with two vertical creases on each side. Major upgrade comes in the form of ADAS tech offering features such as adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking with forward collision avoidance, lane keep assist, blind spot monitor and rear cross traffic collision avoidance assist. It also gets an updated BlueLink connected car tech. No changes are expected to be made to its engine setup. The 2024 Creta will continue to use the 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, new 1.5L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel engines. More details here…

Hyundai Creta 2022 Teased

Hyundai’s Creta EV will be an answer to the upcoming Maruti Suzuki electric SUV based on the eVX concept. Powertrain details of the electric SUV are not available. If media reports are to be believed, the it might share its powertrain setup with the Kona EV that comes with a permanent magnet synchronous motor and a 39.2kWh lithium-ion battery. The Kona electric delivers a claimed range of 425km on a single charge. EV-specific changes will be made to its exterior and interior. More details here…
