Hyundai Alcazar Vs Creta – Differences Explained

Korean automaker, Hyundai has launched the Alcazar 3-row SUV in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 16.30 lakh. The 7-seater SUV is based on the Hyundai’s K2 platform that also underpins the Creta SUV. In fact, the Alcazar looks like a bigger version of the Creta; however, the SUV gets several new features and design bits that give it its own personality.

1. Price Difference

– The Hyundai Alcazar is available in petrol and diesel engine options with manual and automatic gearboxes. The Alcazar petrol manual is priced between Rs 16.30 lakh and Rs 18.71 lakh, while the automatic version costs between Rs 17.93 lakh and Rs 19.85 lakh.

– The Hyundai Alcazar diesel manual is priced between Rs 16.53 lakh and Rs 18.94 lakh, while the diesel automatic version is priced in the range of Rs 18.01 lakh to Rs 20 lakh.

– The Creta petrol manual is available in the price bracket of Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 13.96 lakh, while the petrol AT costs between Rs 15.44 lakh and Rs 16.65 lakh. The SUV also gets a turbocharged DCT version, which is priced between Rs 16.66 lakh and Rs 17.70 lakh.

– The diesel Creta manual costs between Rs 10.51 lakh and Rs 16.24 lakh, while the diesel AT is priced between Rs 16.44 lakh and Rs 17.65 lakh.

2. Seating Options

The new Alcazar is offered in 6-and 7-seat options, while the Creta is a 5-seater SUV. The 6-seater Alcazar comes with captain seats for the second row with floor mounted central console. The 7-seater gets bench-type seats for the second row.

3. Feature Differences

– The Hyundai Alcazar and Creta shares a lot of features; however, the Alcazar comes with added sophisticated features. The 7-seater SUV comes equipped with a bigger 10.25-inch digital instrument console, which is sophisticated and shows different themes. It has two digital readout type analogue dials for the speedometer and tachometer. The Hyundai Creta comes equipped with a smaller 7-inch digital instrument console with analogue readouts for the fuel meter and tachometer.

– The Alcazar offers wireless charging system for both front and second row occupants; however, the Creta offers this feature for the first row passengers only. In Alcazar, this feature is limited to the 6-seater variants.

– The Creta has rear parking sensors as standard, while the Alcazar is equipped with front and rear parking sensors. This feature is very helpful while parking the car in tight spots and even in bumper-to-bumper traffic.

– Not just parking sensors, the Hyundai Alcazar comes fitted with a 360 degree camera. The Creta only gets a rear parking camera and sensors. The 360 degree camera is offered on the higher variant, while the lower variants get a rear camera as standard.

– The Alcazar also gets the segment-first blind view monitor, which assists driver in changing lanes. It provides view of the blind spots on the instrument console.

– The 3-row SUV comes with rear disc brakes, ESC (Electronic Stability Control), hill start assist control, TPMS, automatic headlamps, driver rear view monitor, a rear parking camera and rear parking sensors as standard safety features. These features are not available as standard in the Creta.

4. More Power

The Hyundai Alcazar comes equipped with a bigger capacity petrol engine. It is powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 159PS of power and 191Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.

On the other hand, the Creta is available with two petrol engine options – a 115PS, 1.5L NA petrol with 6MT & CVT, and a 140PS, 1.4L turbo petrol with 7-speed DCT. The diesel version of the Alcazar and the Creta are powered by the same 115PS/250Nm 1.5L engine with 6MT & 6AT.

5. Dimensions

In terms of proportions, the Alcazar is 4,500mm long, 1,790mm wide and 1,675mm in tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,760mm. On the other hand, the new Creta measures 4,300mm in length, 1,790mm in width, 1,635mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,610mm.

Compared to the Creta, the Alcazar is 20mm longer and 40mm taller. In fact, the wheelbase is 150mm higher to create more space inside the cabin. The Alcazar offers a segment-largest boot space of 180-litres with all three rows in position.
