Korean automaker, Hyundai will release the prices of the much-awaited Alcazar 7-seater SUV on June 18, 2021. Interested buyers can pre-book the SUV through dealerships or via Hyundai’s online sales portal at a token amount of Rs 25,000. The Hyundai Alcazar SUV will be offered in 6 variants – Prestige, Prestige (O), Platinum, Platinum (O), Signature and Signature (O).
A new media report claims that the top-spec Hyundai Alcazar ‘Signature’ trim will be sold exclusively via Hyundai Signature Outlets. This suggests that the top-spec variant won’t be available at all dealerships. The Signature trim will be allocated to big dealers who have multiple outlets in metro cities and sell larger volumes.
Dealers from smaller centres including Tier 2, Tier 3 and semi-urban regions will get the Platinum and Prestige variants only. The new SUV will be offered in 6-and 7-seat layouts. The third-row seat comes with reclining function, and can be fully folded down to create large boot area.
It will rival the MG Hector Plus, the XUV500 and the Tata Safari. The SUV will come in 6 colour options Taiga Brown, Typhoon Silver, Titan Grey, Polar White, Phantom Black and Starry Night. The White and Grey colour will be offered in a dual-tone scheme.
The Hyundai Alcazar will be offered with two engine options – a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol and a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel. While the petrol engine produces 157bhp of power and 192Nm of torque, the oil burner is good for 113bhp and 250Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.
The petrol manual is claimed to return an ARAI certified fuel economy of 14.5kmpl, while the automatic variant delivers 14.2kmpl. The diesel manual returns 20.4kmpl, while the diesel AT offers 18.1kmpl.
In terms of features, the new Alcazar gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluelink connected car tech, a 10.25-inch digital instrument console, air purifier, a 360 degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, Bose premium sound system with 8 speakers, 8-way electrically adjustable driver seat, etc.
