The long-awaited Hyundai Alcazar 7-seater SUV will be released in the Indian market on June 18, 2021. The new model was earlier planned to be launched in April; however, the launch has been delayed due to COVID-19 pandemic. Bookings for the new Alcazar has already been commenced at a token amount of Rs 25,000.
Interested buyers can pre-book the new Hyundai Alcazar 7-seater SUV via dealership or through Hyundai’s Click to Buy Online sales portal. The new SUV will be offered in 6-and 7-seat layouts. It will rival the MG Hector Plus, the XUV500 and the Tata Safari. The Hyundai Alcazar SUV will be offered in 6 variants – Prestige, Prestige (O), Platinum, Platinum (O), Signature and Signature (O).
Engine Specs – The ‘O’ or optional variants will come with automatic gearbox options, while the standard variants will get manual gearbox. The Alcazar will be offered with two engine options – a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel and a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine. The 2.0L petrol engine produces 159PS of power and 192Nm of torque. It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph in 9.5 seconds.
The diesel engine is the same that powers the Creta. It is capable of producing 115PS of power and 250Nm of torque; however, the engine is tuned differently for a better power delivery. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.
Mileage – The petrol manual is claimed to return an ARAI certified fuel economy of 14.5kmpl, while the automatic variant delivers 14.2kmpl. The diesel manual returns 20.4kmpl, while the diesel AT offers 18.1kmpl.
Colors – The Hyundai Alcazar 7-seater SUV will be offered in 6 colour options – Taiga Brown, Typhoon Silver, Titan Grey, Polar White, Phantom Black and Starry Night. The White and Grey colour will be offered in a dual-tone scheme.
Key Features – The six-seater model will come with captain’s seats in the second row, while the 7-seater model will have a bench-type arrangement for the second row. The second row seats get a sliding function, and the seats can be adjusted to free up more space for the second or third row passengers. The third-row seat comes with reclining function, and can be fully folded down to create large boot area. The six-seater version gets independent floor-mounted armrest with storage space. The third row can only be accessed via the second row seat’s one-touch tumble mechanism.
In terms of features, the new Hyundai Alcazar SUV comes equipped with a 10.25-inch digital instrument console, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, BlueLink connected car tech, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, automatic AC, a 360-degree camera, 64 ambient lighting, air purifier, 360 degree camera and a lane charge camera. The SUV comes with 8-way electrically adjustable driver seat. It also gets bose premium sound system with 8 speakers, front row sliding sunvisor and window sunshade.
