Hyundai Alcazar Mileage Better Than Safari, Hector Plus

Hyundai Alcazar has started arriving at showrooms ahead of its launch on 18th June 2021. It will be offered in 6 variants, 6 colours and 2 engine and gearbox options. The SUV can be had with either a 1.5L, 4-cylinder turbo diesel motor or a 2.0L, 4-cylinder petrol unit. While the former pushes out a peak power of 159bhp with 192Nm of torque, the latter is good enough for 115bhp and 250Nm. All trims will be available with a 6-speed manual gearbox. A 6-speed torque convertor automatic transmission will be reserved for the Optional (O) variants.

According to leaked information, the Alcazar petrol will deliver fuel efficiency of 14.5kmpl with manual gearbox and 14.2kmpl with automatic transmission. The diesel version will promise a mileage of 20.4kmpl (manual) and 18.1kmpl (automatic). Compared to its arch rivals – Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus, the new Hyundai three-row SUV will be more frugal.

The Tata Safari comes with a 2.0L Kryotec turbo diesel engine that returns a claimed power of 170bhp with 350Nm and fuel efficiency of 16.14kmpl (with both manual and automatic gearbox). The MG Hector Plus is available with three engine options – a 143bhp, 1.5L turbo petrol, a 1.5L petrol with mild hybrid tech and a 170bhp, 2.0L diesel. Its petrol version offers fuel economy of 11.67kmpl, while the petrol mild hybrid and diesel powertrain deliver 16.56kmpl.

In terms of features, the new Hyundai Alcazar will be packed with lots of goodies such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, connected car technology, automatic AC  unit, wireless charging, 8-speaker Bose sound system, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof with voice operations, electrically adjustable driver seat, 64-colour ambient lighting and more. On the safety front, it will offer 6 airbags, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and camera.

Prices of the Hyundai Alcazar are scheduled to be announced on 18th June. Though, it’s estimated to cost from Rs 13 lakh onwards. If it happens, it will undercut both its rivals.
