Hyundai Alcazar 7-Seater SUV First Official Pictures Released

The much-awaited Hyundai Alcazar 7-seater SUV will make global debut on April 6, 2021 in India. Ahead of the global reveal, Hyundai has released first picture of the SUV revealing the side profile, interior and rear. It is basically the 7-seater version of the second generation Hyundai Creta, which was launched in 2020.

The first sketch image reveals that the Hyundai Alcazar 7-seater SUV received significant design changes to the side profile. It looks significantly longer, and has flatter profile compared to the rounded shape of Creta. The SUV is developed on Hyundai’s Global Design identity of Sensuous Sportiness, which we have already seen on new breed of Hyundai cars & SUVs.

Hyundai Alcazar 7-seater Side

The Hyundai Alcazar gets extended rear overhang, and completely re-designed C-column. The rear door size seems increased for better ingress and egress. The roof design has also been altered, and is now flatter instead of sloping in the 5-seater Creta. The SUV also gets roof-integrated spoiler, ORVMs with integrated blinkers, differently styled diamond-cut alloy wheels, and different wraparound tail-lights.

The Creta has silver bar that runs above the window-line to merge into the C-pillar; however, the Alcazar has blackened pillars with thinner C-pillar and glass area between the C-and D-pillar to give airy feel for the third row occupants. Also, the Alacazr has body-coloured door handles instead of chromed in 5-seater model. The rear profile has also been re-designed, and has more flatter profile. It gets new tail-lamps, new tailgate and new bumper.

The upcoming Hyundai Alcazar will ride on longer wheelbase and the length will be raised to accommodate third row of seats. It was reported that the SUV will ride on 20mm longer wheelbase and the length will be raised by 30mm. The front fascia will look identical to the 5-seater Creta, but it will have a chrome-studded radiator grille and slightly revised headlamp. The SUV will also receive front parking sensors, which is missing in the 5-seater car. It is likely to feature a larger touchscreen infotainment system (bigger than Creta), auto-dimming IRVM, 360 degree camera, leather upholstery and front parking sensors.

The new Hyundai Alcazar will come in 6-and 7-seat options. The 6-seater model will get captain seats for the second row, while the 7-seater will have bench-type second row seats with 60:40 split function. The SUV will rival the Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV500 and the MG Hector Plus. It is estimated to be priced somewhere between Rs 13 lakh and Rs 19 lakh.

Hyundai Alcazar Design Sketch

The Alcazar is expected to be offered in two engine options – a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol with 6-speed DCT and a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel with 6-speed torque convertor. A 6-speed manual could come as standard. The 1.4L petrol engine is capable of producing 138bhp and 250Nm of torque, the 1.5L diesel engine produces 113bhp and 250Nm of torque. It is not likely to get the 1.5L naturally-aspirated petrol engine, which is offered with the 5-seater model.
