Honda Plans To Launch Electric Cars In India – Details

Honda Cars India introduced the City Hybrid sedan in May 2022. The model has been receiving overwhelming response from buyers that’s encouraging the automaker enter into the electric vehicle (EV) as well. Speaking to an online media publication, Takuya Tsumaru, President & CEO of Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL), has revealed that the company will foray into the electric vehicle (EV) space in coming years. A few global Honda electric cars are reported to be under consideration for the Indian market.

The automaker aims to electrify its two-thirds product portfolio by the end of the decade. In fact, Honda has begun feasibility study for its upcoming electric cars and flex-fuel vehicles in the country. The company believes that the strong hybrids are currently the best options for the Indian market. Unlike the electric cars, the strong hybrid vehicles are more practical and have no charging issues. The hybrid cars are much more frugal and have lower emission levels than the ICE models.
