Honda Cars India has finally launched the much-awaited City Hybrid sedan in the country. The model comes in a single ZX variant that costs Rs 19,49,900 (ex-showroom). The model features an Atkinson Cycle 1.5L, 4-cylinder petrol engine with two electric motors promising a mileage of 26.5kmpl. The gasoline unit produces a peak power of 98bhp and with electric assistance it makes 109bhp. Its combined torque output stands at 253Nm.
The City e:HEV has also been benefited with start/stop technology enhancing its fuel economy. The hybrid sedan is available with a single, fixed-gear ratio and three drive modes – Engine, EV and Hybrid. It comes with the standard 3 year/unlimited kilometer warranty and an 8 year warranty on the lithium-ion battery. Buyers can also opt for the extended 5 year/unlimited kilometer or 10 year/1,20,000 kilometer warranty plan.
One of the major highlights of the new Honda City Hybrid is its ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) called – Honda Sensing. The suite offers features such as auto high beam, adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking system, lane keeping assist system and road departure mitigation system.
The hybrid sedan also gets 37 Honda Connect with Smartwatch integration and Ok Google and Alexa compatibility, an updated 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the latest smartphone connectivity, ambient lighting, an 8 speaker premium audio system, a 7-inch colour TFT meter with hybrid/sensing graphics, one-touch electric sunroof, remote engine start, walk away auto clock and more. The new Honda hybrid car offers protection of 6 airbags along with the electric parking brake, lanewatch, auto brake hold, a tyre pressure monitoring system multi-angle rear view camera, vehicle stability assist, Isofix rear seats, hill start assist and all 4 wheel disc brakes. The Japanese carmaker expects that the hybrid sedan will be able to achieve 5 star ASEAN NCAP rating.
