Honda Elevate Name Confirmed For Creta Rival SUV

The new Honda Elevate midsize SUV is scheduled to make global debut in India in the first week of June 2023.

We reported earlier that Honda’s upcoming midsize SUV will be called the Elevate, as the name was registered in India. Now, the Japanese automaker has released a new teaser that confirms that the upcoming SUV has been named the “Honda Elevate”. The new SUV is scheduled to make its global debut in India on June 6, 2023

The new Honda Elevate SUV will go on sale in the third quarter of 2023, during the festive season before Diwali. The new midsize SUV will be designed and developed on the 5th generation City platform. It will be positioned between the WR-V and the HR-V in the brand’s global line-up. Unlike the BR-V with Crossover-MPV styling, the new Elevate will come with proper SUV credentials.

Internally called the 3US, the new Honda Elevate will share the styling cues from the bigger Honda SUVs including the CR-V and the HR-V. The SUV will have rugged styling with a strong nose and upright proportions. The leaked images reveal that the Elevate will have a mesh-type front grille, flanked by sharper LED DRLs, a long bonnet and LED headlamps with LED daytime running lights. It will have an upright stance and HR-V like side profile with slightly tapered roofline.

The new Honda SUV will have large glass areas, which should offer a more airy feel in the second-row. The SUV will have muscular wheel arches with chunky cladding, multi-spoke alloy wheels and door-mounted ORVMs & prominent roof rails. The rear profile is inspired by the new WR-V, featuring wrap-around tail-lights with LED elements & halogen turn indicators, a sloping roofline and a tailgate mounted spoiler.

New Honda SUV teased

The new Honda Elevate comes equipped with an electric sunroof. The SUV will feature ADAS tech with features like collision mitigation braking system, road departure mitigation system, lane keeping assist system, adaptive cruise control & auto high-beam. The spy images also confirm that the SUV will get a 360 degree camera and Honda’s Lane Watch system to detect blind spots. Other features will include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, VSM, hill launch assist & an electronic parking brake. Inside the cabin, the SUV will have a bigger touchscreen infotainment screen and a digital driver display.

The SUV will be powered by a tried & tested 1.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine from the City sedan. The engine churns out 121bhp & 145Nm. A six-speed manual and CVT automatic gearbox will be on offer. Similar to the City hybrid, the new Honda Elevate will also get a 1.5L Atkinson cycle engine with a strong hybrid tech, called the e:HEV. In the hybrid set-up, the petrol engine produces 98bhp and with electric assistance it makes 109bhp. Its combined torque output stands at 253Nm. The SUV could also receive a 1.0L turbo petrol engine that produces 120bhp and 173Nm of torque.
