In order to tap the growing market and benefit from surge in demand, carmakers keep updating their existing product lineup and roll out new models across segments. The evolution within the fraternity is in tandem with the change in buying behaviour. With new segments being introduced and models witnessing generation leaps in regular intervals, there is a whole bunch of new cars coming to India. Here, we bring you a complete list of upcoming cars under 15 Lakhs with their expected price & launch details.

Kia Clavis

Kia Clavis SUV

The first model in our list of upcoming cars under 15 lakhs is the new Kia Clavis compact SUV, which is scheduled to make its global debut in late 2024. The new model will sit between the Sonet and the Seltos in the brand’s line-up and will be marketed as a lifestyle SUV. It will share styling cues from the brand’s global SUVs including the Telluride. It will be a tall and upright SUV with boxy styling elements and high ground clearance. The SUV will have a modern cabin layout with several high-end features like a larger touchscreen infotainment unit, a digital instrument console, automatic AC, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, 360-degree camera and others. It will also come with ADAS tech. It is likely to be powered by a 1.2L NA petrol and 1.0L turbo petrol engines. It could also be offered with a hybrid powertrain. It will also receive an electric derivative, which will arrive in 2025.

New-gen Maruti Swift

2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift

Maruti Suzuki will introduce the fourth generation Swift hatchback in the country in the coming weeks. The new model will be based on the modified version of the HEARTECT platform, which will also underpin the new Dzire. It will have a more evolutionary styling; however, the cabin has been completely designed with resemblance with new Fronx and Baleno. It will have a bigger 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity, a digital instrument console, automatic AC and others. The big upgrade is the introduction of a new 1.2L 3-cylinder petrol engine that produces 82bhp and 109Nm of torque. The mild-hybrid version has a DC synchronous motor, which offers an additional power and torque outputs of 3.1bhp and 60Nm, respectively.  Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and a new CVT automatic gearbox. The India-spec model is likely to get an AMT option.

New Maruti Dzire

The next model in our list of upcoming cars under 15 lakhs is the new-gen Maruti Dzire compact sedan, which has been caught testing multiple times. The new model will come with design changes and an all-new interior along with several segment-first features. It will come with segment-first factory-fitted electric sunroof, which will give it a competitive advantage over the Honda Amaze and the Hyundai Aura. It will come fitted with a large 9-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment unit, a semi-digital instrument console, an automatic AC, keyless entry & go, a 360 degree camera and an auto dimming IRVM. The sedan will share the 82bhp, 1.2L 3-cylinder petrol engine with the new Swift hatchback.

Toyota Taisor

Toyota had discontinued the Urban Cruiser compact SUV and is currently selling the Hyryder and the Fortuner SUVs in the country. The company will soon enter the sub-4 meter SUV category with an all-new model based on the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. Likely to be called the Toyota Taisor, the new compact SUV will rival the likes of the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Nissan Magnite and the Renault Kiger. The new model is scheduled to be launched on April 3, 2024. It is most likely to be offered with the same 1.2L naturally-aspirated and 1.0L Boosterjet petrol engines found in the Fronx. Like the Fronx, the Toyota Taisor will be offered with manual, AMT and CVT gearbox options.

New Honda Amaze

Buoyed by positive response for the new Elevate mid-sized SUV, Honda is now ready to introduce the new-gen Amaze compact sedan in the country. The new model will receive all-new styling inspired from global Honda sedans, and an all-new interior along with several high-end features. It will be developed on the same platform that underpins the City and the Elevate; however, it will be modified to accommodate a sub-4 meter car. The cabin of the new Amaze is likely to share the layout and features from the Elevate mid-sized sedan. It could get a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The sedan is also likely to receive the Honda Sensing Suite – an advanced driver assistance system. The ADAS tech will offer features like lane keep assist, lane departure warning, road departure warning, collision mitigation braking system, adaptive cruise control and automatic high beam assist. It will retain the existing 90bhp, 1.2L 4-cylinder NA petrol engine with 5-speed manual and CVT automatic gearbox options.

Skoda Sub-4 Meter SUV

New Skoda Compact SUV teased

Skoda has officially announced to introduce a new sub-4 meter SUV in the Indian market in the first quarter of 2024. It is expected that the SUV could be revealed at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show, which is scheduled to happen in January. It will rival the likes of the Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and Maruti Brezza. Skoda is planning to achieve over 90% of localisation levels, hinting towards competitive pricing for the compact SUV. It will be designed and developed on the Volkswagen Group’s MQB AO IN platform, which underpins the Kushaq and Slavia. It will be powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 115bhp and 178Nm of torque.  Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.

Nissan Magnite Facelift

Nissan is set to give a major makeover to the Magnite compact SUV in 2024. In fact, the updated model has been caught testing on the Indian roads. The new model will receive some design changes to keep things fresh in the market. The cabin is likely to receive major change in the form of new features and better quality materials and features such as ventilated seats, auto-dimming IRVM and a few soft-touch plastics. It is also likely to receive a single-pane sunroof. The SUV will continue to be offered with the same engine options – a 71bhp, 1.0L 3-cylinder petrol and a 99bhp, 1.0L 3-cylinder turbo petrol. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual, a 5-speed AMT (NA unit) and a CVT (turbo petrol).

Nissan 7-Seater MPV

Nissan has confirmed a new compact 7-seater MPV for the Indian market. The model will be based on the Renault Triber that means it platform, design elements, features and engines will be borrowed from its cousin MPV. The new Nissan MPV might share some of its styling bits with the Nissan Magnite. Interior could also be similar to the Magnite. The compact MPV is expected to be packed with features such as a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a digital instrument cluster, 12V charging socket for third row, power windows for the front and rear, keyless entry, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, dual airbags, etc. The new Nissan MPV will derive its power from a 1.0L petrol and a 1.0L turbo petrol engine, generating power worth 72PS with 98Nm and 100PS with 160Nm respectively.

New-Gen Mahindra Bolero

The next in our list of the upcoming cars under 15 lakhs is the new-generation Mahindra Bolero. The SUV is likely to receive a generation change sometime in 2026. As per media reports, the all-new Bolero could be designed on the Scoprio N’s platform that’s made of high-strength steel. We expect it to come with significant cosmetic changes and feature upgrades. It could feature a completely new front fascia with chrome accented seven-slot grille, Mahindra’s new twin-peak logo, rectangular LED headlamps, tweaked bumper and fog lamp assembly with chrome surround. The 2024 Mahindra Bolero might also grow in size. The SUV is expected to feature a 2.2L mHawk diesel and a 2.0L turbo petrol engine under the hood. The SUV could also share the 1.5L diesel engine option with the XUV300 compact SUV.

Launch – 2026 (Expected)
