Honda CBR150R (Yamaha R15 Rival) Design Patent Filed In India

Japanese two-wheeler maker, Honda has no performance oriented 150cc motorcycle in the Indian market, which is currently dominated by Yamaha R15. The company had discontinued the previous gen CBR150R from our market. Things could change in near future, as Honda has registered the design of the new CBR150R in India.

The current generation Honda CB150R is currently on sale select Asian markets including Indonesia. The new model looks like a mini sport motorcycle, featuring sharp fairing, upswept tail, rear set foot pegs for sporty riding position and chiselled fuel tank. The motorcycle gets LED lighting system and a reverse LCD instrument console.

Powering the new Honda CBR150R is a 150cc, DOHC, 4-valve, liquid-cooled engine that is capable of producing 17.1PS at 9,000rpm and a peak torque of 14.4Nm at 7,000rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle rides on 17-inch alloys shod with 100/80 and 130/70 section tyres at the front and rear respectively.

Suspension mechanism comprises of USD front forks and a monoshock unit at the rear. The 5-level settings for each front and rear suspension further improves the overall comfort and handling. For braking duties, the motorcycle gets disc brakes at both ends.

Honda CBR150R India

The Indonesian-spec model gets ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) with ESS (Emergency Stop Signal). This system automatically activates the hazard light during emergency braking.
