Honda Amaze Completes 10 Years In India; New-Gen Model in 2024

First launched in April 2013, the Honda Amaze has completed 10 successful years in India. The carmaker sold over 5.3 units of the subcompact sedan so far including 2.6 units of its first generation and 2.7 units of its second generation. At present, the model lineup comes with the 1.2L i-VTEC petrol engine and two gearbox options – 5-speed manual and CVT automatic.

The motor, that meets the RDE (Real Drive Emission) norms, pushes out a peak power of 90bhp and 110Nm of torque. The carmaker discontinued the 80bhp, 1.5L diesel engine. Honda’s Tapukara facility in Rajasthan serves as production hub for the Amaze sedan. The company also exports it to South Africa and SAARC countries.

New Honda Amaze Facelift

Now, the Japanese automaker is ready to give it a generation sometime in 2024. The all-new Honda Amaze will underpin the modified version of its existing platform. Some of its design elements could be derived from the new City and Accord (sold in global markets). The compact sedan might get come with a new interior theme and layout along with a bunch of new goodies including a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system.

Features such as LED projector headlamps, 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, LED fog lamps, rear view camera with guidelines, automatic climate control, speed sensing auto door lock function, rear armrest with cup holder, cruise control, tilt adjustable steering and engine start/stop button will continue to be on offer.

Under the hood, the new 2024 Honda Amaze is expected to house the same 1.2L, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that does duty in the existing model.

Once launched, the all-new Amaze will continue to challenge the Hyundai Aura and Maruti Suzuki Dzire. Just so you know, the Dzire will enter to its new generation in 2024 and it’s reported to come with the strong hybrid powertrain.
