The new 2019 Hero Splendor iSmart becomes India’s first BS6-compliant motorcycle. Boosted with the fuel injection technology, the bike’s new model has been priced at Rs 64,900 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Powering the new 2019 Hero Splendor iSmart is a 110cc, fuel-injected engine pushing out a maximum power output of 9bhp at 7,500rpm and slightly increased torque of 9.89Nm at 5,500rpm. Compared to the previous model, the new one delivers 10% more torque across the rev range.
The commuter also gets Hero’s idle start stop system called ‘i3S’ that automatically shuts down the engine when idling and turns it on when require by pressing the clutch. This technology further enhances its fuel economy.
The 2019 Hero Splendor iSmart sits on an all-new diamond frame that’s claimed to offer better stability and rigidity. It also aids to its handling and overall performance. The front suspension travel has also been increased by 15mm. The new 2019 Hero Splendor iSmart FI comes in a choice of three colour schemes – Sports Red and Black, Techno Blue and Black and Force Silver & Heavy Grey.
