The new Harley-Davidson Sportster S cruiser motorcycle has been confirmed for the Indian market. The model, that made its global debut in July 2021, comes with the new Revolution Max 1250 engine, muscular body panels and beefy tyres. Engine Specs
One of its major highlights is Harley’s Revolution Max engine that also does duty in the Pan America 1250. The 1250cc, liquid-cooled, v-twin motor has been boosted with the variable valve timing (VVT) and DOCH (Dual Overhead Camshafts) technology. It returns a claimed power of 121bhp and 127Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. The motor can rev up to 9,500rpm. Harley says that the engine offers up to 10% more torque from 3,000rpm to 6,000rpm. The cruiser motorcycle has a 6-speed gearbox and a slipper clutch. It offers five riding modes including 3 pre-programmed (Road, Sport and Rain) and 2 custom.
Mechanism
Suspension setup includes a fully adjustable USD fork and monoshock unit. The bike derives its braking power from a 320mm disc and a four-piston, radial monoblock Brembo caliper up front and a two-piston Brembo caliper and a 260mm rear disc brake. Features & Colours
The upcoming Harley-Davidson Sportster S offers a circular 4.0-inch TFT display for instrumentation and infotainment. The unit supports smartphones via Bluetooth. It gets a six-axis IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) that works with the traction control system and ensures perfect grip levels. The cruiser motorcycle has also been equipped with the cornering enhanced anti-lock braking system (C-ABS), tyre pressure monitoring system, cruise control and all LED lighting.
The Harley-Davidson Sportster S sits on the brand’s Revolution Max platform and has wet weight stands at 227.7kg. It offers a fuel tank capacity of 11-litres. The bike will come in a choice of three colour options – Midnight Crimson, Stone Washed White Pearl and Vivid Black.
