The much-awaited Ford Bronco SUV is expected to be released in the American market by the end of this month. This will mark Ford’s re-entry in the off-road utility segment, as the Bronco will be pitched against the old challenger – the popular Jeep Wrangler.
By releasing a new teaser video, Ford is giving glimpse of the capabilities of the upcoming Bronco that is facing a lot of mud and steep incline. This video also shows three different prototypes of the Bronco – two four-door and one two-door. It is expected to use the highly capable 329bhp, 2.7-litre V6 EcoBoost engine that also powers the F-150. The SUV is expected to offer excellent off-road abilities, which is also visible in the video.
Published on the Bronco Nation Youtube channel, which is a special platform created by Ford to bring fans of the Bronco off-road model of all ages together. The website also has forum for discussions. Adding to it, the Bronco Nation website also shows the latest news about the Bronco and community updates.
Going by the preparations, it is expected that the new Ford Bronco could be released sooner than expected. It was scheduled to be unveiled at the 2020 New York Auto Show; that didn’t happen. The show cancelled due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. Latest media reports claim that the SUV could be presented in the coming weeks, by the end of June 2020. However, the launch of the new Ford Bronco will take place in early next year.
Instead of the Bronco, Ford will first launch the Bronco Sport – a smaller model based on the Escape platform – in the United States by the end of this year. This SUV will also go on sale in South America. It is likely to share the mechanics with the Escape, which includes 150bhp, 1.5-litre EcoBoost and a 250bhp, 2.5-litre EcoBoost. It is quite early to comment whether the new Bronco will make way to India. The company is readying an all-new C-segment SUV, which will be co-developed by Ford and Mahindra.
