2020 Kia Seltos Vs Previous Model – Key Changes
Kia Motors made its India debut with the Seltos compact SUV last year that proved to be runway success for the company. Recently, the carmaker re-jigged the model lineup and added 10 new features encompassing connectivity, comfort, safety and design. Here’re the top changes that have made to the 2020 Kia Seltos.
1. Lesser variants
The carmaker has discontinued two variants from the Seltos GT Line, namely, GTK and GTX DCT. Both models are said to be removed due to their poor demand. Now, the Kia Seltos SUV lineup comes in 16 variants including 3 GT Line models – 1.4L GDI GTX, GTX+ and GTX+ DCT.
2. Expensive than before
Prices of the updated Seltos petrol models have been increased by up to Rs 25,000 and the diesel variants get expensive by up to Rs 30,000. One must note that the prices of the entry-level and top-end variants remain unchanged. The 1.5L HTE manual and 1.4L GTX+ DCT are available at the same Rs 9.89 lakh and Rs 17.29 lakh respectively. The 1.5L HTK MT, 1.5L HTK+ MT, 1.5L HTX MT, 1.5L HTXCVT, 1.4L GTX MT and 1.4L GTX+ MT petrol models cost Rs 10.49 lakh, Rs 11.59 lakh, Rs 13.34 lakh, Rs 14.34 lakh, Rs 15.54 lakh and Rs 16.39 lakh respectively. The 1.5L HTK MT, 1.5L HTK+ MT, 1.5L HTK+ AT, 1.5L HTX MT, 1.5L HTX+ MT, 1.5L HTX+ AT diesel variants are priced at Rs 11.69 lakh, Rs 12.69 lakh, Rs 13.69 lakh, Rs 14.44 lakh, Rs 15.49 lakh and Rs 16.49 lakh respectively. All prices are ex-showroom.
3. Slightly updated styling
Now, the Kia Seltos HTK+, HTX, HTX+, GTX and GTX+ trims feature a slightly revised rear bumper that makes it look like dual exhaust pipes. The carmaker has also offered a new dual-tone colour scheme – Orange and White. Though, it’s available only on the HTX+ and GTX+ trims.
4. Updated UVO connect system
The 2020 Kia Seltos also gets an updated UVO connectivity suite with more features. The system now supports voice command – “Hello Kia” – along with the new smartwatch app connectivity. It also allows control the in-car air purifier settings and gives audio details about cricket score, weather information, Indian holidays and more. 5. More features from lower variants
All variants of the updated Kia Seltos come with a remote engine start feature, an emergency stop signal feature and front and rear USB charging points. While the HTX and GTX trims are now available with an electric sunroof, the HTX and HTX+ come with metal scuff plates on all four doors. The HTK+ variant gets a printed dashboard garnish and faux leather finish on the gear knob as standard. The GTX and GTX+ variants receive all-black interior and the HTX, HTX+, GTX and GTX+ variants get a silver finish on the temperature control panel.
