New Citroen 7-Seater SUV – C3 Aircross Launch, Key Details

The French automaker, Citroen is planning to expand its Indian product portfolio with a new three-row SUV. The model will be designed and developed for emerging markets like Brazil and India. According to a fresh media report, the new Citroen 7-seater SUV will be based on the C3 hatchback (codenamed CC24). Its final production version is rumoured to be named Citroen C3 Aircross. The test mule of the vehicle was caught on camera a number of times revealing some interesting design details.

Most of its design elements will be carried forward from its younger sibling. Upfront, the new Citroen 7-seater SUV will feature a slightly different front grille and bumper. Its fog lamp assembly will also be positioned slightly lower than C3 hatchback. The prototype, however, was missing out on the C3. It was equipped with the 17-inch wheels. We expect that the final version might come with the 16-inch wheels and alloy wheels could be exclusively offered on the top-end variant.

The Citroen C3 Aircross will surely be longer than its hatchback sibling, as we have also seen in spy images. While the wheelbase might remain unchanged, it will accommodate an extra row of seats. Similar to the exterior, the cabin will share a great resemblance with the Citroen C3. The new 7-seater SUV from Citroen might come with a 10-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system. The unit might support wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Read – Citroen eC3 Electric Car Launching Very Soon

Features such as a digital instrument cluster, a flat bottom steering with mounted cluster, four speakers, tilt adjustable steering, speed sensitive auto door lock, door ajar warning and roof rails might also be on offer.

Engine setup of the new Citroen 7-seater SUV is likely to include the same 1.2L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol and 1.2L, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol units. While the former makes 110bhp with 190Nm, the latter delivers 82bhp with 115Nm.

The upcoming Citroen C3 Aircross is expected to go on sale in India towards the end of 2023. Here, it will take on the Renault Triber.
