Nissan’s low-cost brand, Datsun had unveiled the facelifted versions of the GO and GO+ MPV in May 2018. According to the AutoCarIndia, the new models will go on sale in India in September 2018. The company is aiming at Diwali festive season to improve its sales in the highly competitive Indian market.
It is expected that the India-spec models will have similar body kit as the Indonesian-spec models. The cars will come with re-profiled headlamps, revised bumpers with integrated daytime running LEDs. The hexagonal grille will have different mesh patterns and could also receive chrome treatment. The cabin will receive majority of the changes. Instead of the basic dashboard, the refreshed models will get newly designed dashboard with better quality materials and fit and finish. The vehicle will also receive a new 6.75-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected car applications. Other changes will include new instrument console, new front seats, etc. Instead of bench-like front seats, the new models will have individual seats for the driver and co-driver. In terms of features, the new Datsun models will get electrically adjustable ORVMs, rear power windows, rear wash/wipe and rear parking sensors. It is expected that the new models will get driver side airbag and ABS as standard, while driver’s airbag will come as optional. The updated models will continue to be powered by the existing 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The Indonesian-spec model comes equipped with a CVT model, the India-spec model might receive an AMT unit.
