Citroen C5 Aircross SUV – Key Details In 8 Quick Points

The Citroen C5 Aircross, the first upcoming SUV from the French carmaker in India, will make its debut on February 1, 2021. While its official launch date is yet to be revealed, the model might hit showrooms in March. The Citroen C5 Aircross is claimed to “set a benchmark in style, comfort and innovation in its segment in India”.

– The C5 Aircross will be Citroen’s flagship SUV in India that’s estimated to cost around Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV will be sold through the brand’s first 10 initial “La Maison Citroen” showrooms.

– Production of the model has already underway at the CK Birla’s Thiruvallur based manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu.

– For performing transmission duties, the SUV will have an 8-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox with a shift-by-wire system.

– Its suspension system is said to be equipped with a Progressive Hydraulic Cushion that absorbs jerks smoothly and provide comfortable ride. It also comes with a Grip Control system terrain management.

– The top-end trim of the SUV will be packed with features such as an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with latest smartphone connectivity, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster display, a panoramic sunroof and a hands-free boot opening function. – The list will also include dual zone automatic climate control, a powered driver’s seat, multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, active parking assist, blind spot monitoring system and more.

– The upcoming Citroen C5 Aircross has been built on PSA EMP2 platform. The SUV measures 4500mm in length, 1840mm in width and 1670mm in height. That means its 25mm longer and 10mm taller than its arch rival – Hyundai Tucson. The SUV sits on a 2730mm long wheelbase and has a ground clearance of 230mm.
