The long-awaited Citroen C5 Aircross will officially go on sale in the Indian market in March 2021. This will also mark the debut of Groupe PSA in India. The company has already released the engine specifications and key features of the SUV. To be launched as a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) model, the C5 Aicross will rival the Hyundai Tucson, Jeep Compass and the upcoming Skoda Karoq and Volkswagen Tiguan facelift.

Prices
– The Citroen C5 Aircross is expected to be priced around Rs 25 lakh to Rs 30 lakh. On the other hand, the Jeep Compass is priced at Rs 18.69 lakh for base model and Rs 28.29 lakh for the top-end variant.

– The C5 Aircross is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that is capable of producing 174bhp of power and 400Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
– Jeep Compass is available with two engine options – a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol and a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel. The turbo petrol engine produces 160bhp and 260Nm of torque. The diesel engine churns out a maximum power output of 170bhp and a peak torque of 350Nm. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT. The diesel engine also gets a 9-speed automatic gearbox.
– The C5 Aircross is claimed to return an impressive fuel economy of 18.6kmpl. The Jeep Compass diesel returns an impressive fuel economy of 17.1kmpl.

– In terms of proportions, the new Citroen C5 Aircross is 4,500mm long, 2,099mm wide and 1,710mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,730mm.
– The Jeep Compass measures 4,405mm in length, 1,818mm in width and 1,640mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,636mm.
– The C5 Aircorss is 95mm longer, 281mm wider and 70mm taller. The wheelbase is 94mm longer, which should help Citroen to offer spacious cabin.
