Citroen C3 Spotted Ahead of Launch In Early 2022 – Tata Punch Fighter

Citroen C3, the upcoming hatchback from the French automaker, was recently spotted testing in Brazil ahead of its launch in the first half of 2022. The model will also hit Indian roads early next year and challenge cars like Tata Punch and Maruti Suzuki Ignis. Unlike European C3 that underpins PSA’s PF1 architecture, the India-spec version will be designed on the brand’s CMP (Common Modular Platform) that’s cost effective.

Measuring 3.8 meters in length, the new Citroen hatchback carries crossover-ish stances along with the high ground clearance, raised bonnet line and short overhangs. The front fascia of the C3 hatch features the brand’s signature double-slat grille connecting the split-LED headlamps. The LED DLRs are integrated just above the headlamps.  The black cladding on the front and rear bumpers and thick plastic cladding on the pronounced wheel arches and side profile add more to its sporty appearance.

Painted in dual-tone Grey and White colour scheme, the spotted test mule has been equipped with the steel wheels with caps. The production model, however, is expected to come with the dual-tone diamond cut alloy wheels. At the rear section, the upcoming Citroen C3 sports dual-tone bumper, rectangular taillamps on each end and slightly upright tailgate. Here, the hatchback will be made available in four colour options – Zesty Orange, Ice White, Artense Grey and Platinium Grey. Additionally, there will be two roof colour options – Zesty Orange and Artense Grey.

On the feature front, the new Citroen hatchback offers a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, power adjustable for wind mirrors, adjustable headrests for the front and rear passengers, automatic AC unit, pull-type door handles.

In India, the Citroen C3 is expected to be offered with the 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine with the 5-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox options. Its Brazil-spec model will be offered with the 1.0L Firefly and 1.6L 16V FlexStart (only for the higher trims) engine options.
