The much-awaited Citroen C3 hatchback will officially go on sale in the country on July 20, 2022. While Citroen dealers have unofficially started accepting pre-orders, the official bookings for the new C3 hatchback will commence from July 1, 2022.
Citroen C3 Engine Specifications
The new C3 will be offered with two petrol engine options – a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated and a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol. While the former is capable of producing 82PS of power, the later churns out 110PS and 190Nm of torque.
The new Citroen C3 will initially be offered with two gearbox options – a 5-speed manual with naturally-aspirated petrol and a 6-speed manual with a turbocharged petrol engine. The small car will also receive an automatic gearbox, most probably a dual-clutch transmission, at a later stage. The new C3 hatchback will be more powerful than the Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger and the Tata Punch.
Measuring 3.98 meters in length, the new Citroen C3 rides on 2,540mm wheelbase and offers a boot space of 315-litres. The company is marketing the new C3 as “hatchback with a twist”. It comes with a ground clearance of 180mm, which is more than sufficient for Indian road conditions.
Other Details
The new Citroen C3 is based on the heavily localised CMP (Common Modular Platform), which will underpin a new mid-sized SUV and a sedan. It will come with a double DRLs, a signature Citroen grille with chrome treatment, dual-tone paint scheme, split LED headlamp cluster, pronounced wheel arches and black cladding.
The hatchback will come with a large 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It will offer USB fast chargers for front and rear occupants, manual air conditioning, plain steering wheel without any switches, a digital instrument console, etc. The company will offer the new C3 in 4 monotone and 2 dual-tone colour options. Adding to it, Citroen will also introduce 3 accessory package, 56 customisable options and over 70 accessories with the new hatchback.
