Citroen C3 Hatchback Mid-Variant Spotted – What To Expect?

Citroen C3 will be the second offering from the French automaker in India. The premium hatchback ready to witness market launch in coming months. Its official launch date, however, is yet to be announced. Recently, the mid-spec variant of the upcoming Citroen car has been spotted testing without any camouflage. The test mule was painted in metallic grey shade with contrast orange roof. While the model is equipped with the steel wheels, it misses out on the side cladding.

The premium hatchback has compact body-built with SUV-ish stance and sporty body cladding. The front fascia has been adorned by the signature grille featuring two chrome strips, halogen headlamps with split LED DRLs, bumper with skid plates and cladding. The hatch has faux roof rails, a massive rear bumper and wraparound LED taillamps.

As of now, we don’t have its interior pictures. Though, the Citroen C3 is likely to come with dual-tone interior with a dashboard integrated 10-inch touchscreen infotainment unit. The system will support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The hatch will come with the three-spoke steering wheel, single piece front seats with integrated headrests, a digital instrument cluster, manual aircon controls and more.

Built on the CMP modular platform, the Citroen C3 is expected to come with a 1.2L turbo petrol engine. For performing transmission duties, the hatch will have a 5-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic unit. The model lineup won’t come with diesel engine option. The next Citroen offering will be manufactured locally and expected to be priced competitively. Its prices are likely to start from Rs 6 lakh and go up to Rs 10 lakh. In the premium hatch segment, the upcoming C3 will face challenge from the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz. If launched in this price range, the new Citroen car will compete against the Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger.
