Waiting For Tesla Cybertruck – Here’s A Good News

Here’s a good news for buyers who are waiting for the all-new Tesla Cybertruck. During the opening ceremony at the company’s Berlin Gigafactory, Tesla CEO, Elon Musk has revealed that the company will complete the Cybertruck’s development before the end of 2022. That means, the electric pickup truck will enter into production next year. Over 1 million people across the global have pre-booked the vehicle.

The global supply chain constraint has already delayed its launch (which was planned for 2021). In fact, the American automaker has been facing problems to meet demand of its existing cars. This year, the company will focus on increasing production of its existing cars including Model Y and Model 3.

It’s body construction, which is made up from 30X cold rolled stainless steel, is claimed to be dent resistant and able to withstand 9mm bullets. The electric pickup truck has a minimalist design inside the cabin with a large 17-inch central touchscreen and a uniquely designed U-shaped steering. The Cybertruck can accommodate up to six adults. The electric pickup truck will be offered with three powertrain options – single motor RWD, dual motor AWD and tri-motor ‘Plaid’ EV with AWD. The single motor version can do 0 to 100kmph in 6.5 seconds and offers a claimed range of 402km.

The mid-range variant with dual-motor accelerates 0 to 100kmph in 4.5 seconds. It has a towing capacity of over 4,500kg. The range-topping tri-motor variant is capable to do 0-100kmph in 2.9 seconds and delivers a range of 804km on a single charge. It can tow 6,350kg.

Elon Musk revealed that the company’s “primary challenge is affordability”. If reports are to be believed, the Tesla Cybertruck will be more affordable than the Ford F-150 Lighting and GMC Hummer EV pickup truck.
