Citroen C3 Aircross Petrol & Electric SUV Launch Timeline

Citroen has been testing a new SUV in India that’s reported to go on sale towards the end of this year. The model will be named Citroen C3 Aircross and it will be made available in 5 and 7-seats configurations. Speaking to a media publication, the French automaker has confirmed that it will bring in the C3 Aircross with petrol and electric powertrains. Its electric iteration will be introduced sometime in 2025.

Here, the Citroen eC3 Aircross is expected to be put up against the Hyundai Creta EV and Maruti Suzuki eVX concept based electric SUV. Both its rivals are also planned for 2025. The new Citroen SUV will be designed on the eCMP modular platform. Its design and styling could be inspired by C3 hatchback and C5 Aircross. Measuring around 4.3 metres in length, the SUV is likely to have split headlamp setup with LED DRLs, the signature front grille and pronounced fenders. The lower variants might come with halogen headlamps. The rectangular shaped taillamps could be borrowed from the C3 hatchback.

The petrol version of the Citroen C3 Aircross could be made available with a 1.2L, 3-cylinder turbo engine making 110bhp and 190Nm. It could be had with either a manual or an automatic gearbox. Specifications of the SUV’s electric version are still under the wraps.

The 5-seater C3 Aircross will go head-to-head against the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder. The 7-seater version, on the other hand, will take on the Maruti XL6 and Kia Carens. More details on the new Citroen SUV will be revealed in near future, stay tuned to IndiaCarNews.
