Tata Motors has finally announced the prices of the Safari and Harrier Red Dark Editions in the country. The company had showcased these editions at the 2023 Auto Expo in January. The new Harrier Red Dark Edition is priced at Rs 21.77 lakh, while the Safari Red Dark Edition is priced at Rs 22.61 lakh for six-seater & 22.71 lakh for seven-seater. Based on the existing Dark Editions, the new models come with new features along with ADAS tech.
Interested buyers can book the Safari & Harrier Red Dark Editions online or at authorised dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs 30,000. The new Harrier & Safari Red Dark Editions are now BS6 Phase II emission compliant and feature RDE & E20-compliant engines. The new Red Editions are finished in Oberon Black paint scheme, featuring Piano BLack grille with Zircon Red accents. It features 18-inch Charcoal black alloys with red calipers along with #DARK logo embossed on the fenders. The interiors of the SUVs come with Carnelian Red interior theme, featuring the Carnelian Red Leatherette seats with diamond style quilting, red grab handles on doors and red accents on the central console. The #Dark logo is embossed on the headrest, while the cabin is further accentuated with steel black front dashboard design & piano black accents on steering wheel, console and doors.
The Safari & Harrier Red Dark Edition comes with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, a 7-inch digital TFT instrument console, a 9-speaker JBL sound system with amplifier, iRA connected car tech, 200+ voice commands in 6 regional languages. The Safari Red Dark comes with ventilated captain seats on both rows, 360 degree surround view system, 6-way electrically adjustable driver seat with Memory & Welcome function, powered co-driver seat with boss mode & mood lighting in the sunroof. The Harrier Red Dark has all the features that are accessible in the Safari edition, except for the powered co-passenger seat.
In terms of safety features, the new SUVs get 6 airbags, enhanced electronic safety program with 17 functionalities and advanced driver assistance systems. The ADAS tech will offer features like Autonomous Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Rear Collision Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Detection, Traffic Sign Recognition, Door Open Alert, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Change Alert and High Beam Assist. However, it misses out on adaptive cruise control.
Powering the new Harrier & Safari Red Dark Editions is a BS6 Phase 2 & RDE compliant 2.0L turbo diesel engine that is capable of producing 168bhp of power and 350Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.
