Automakers have released sales data for the month of October 2022. Due to festive season and easing of semiconductors supply, most of the automakers have posted positive sales growth. In this article, we bring you car sales report of Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and Mahindra for the month of October 2022.
Maruti Sales October 2022 – 28.76% Growth
Maruti Suzuki has reported a massive growth of 28.76 per cent in October 2022. The company has registered a total sale of 140,337 units in the domestic market as against 108,991 units in the same month last year. The overall sales including exports and commercial vehicles stand at 167,520 units as opposed to 138,335 units in October 2021.
In the mini and compact segment, Maruti Suzuki sold 98,621 units of the Alto, S-Presso, Baleno, Celerio, Ignis, Dzire, Swift, Wagon R and Tour S. In the utility vehicle segment, Maruti Suzuki managed to sell 30,971 units against 27,081 in October 2021. The company is currently selling Brezza, Grand Vitara, XL6, Ertiga and S-Cross in the UV segment. Maruti Suzuki has also sold 1,884 and 8861 units of the Ciaz and Eeco Van last month respectively. MSIL has exported 20,448 units last month against 21,322 units in October 2021.
Hyundai Sales October 2022 – 29.66% Growth
Hyundai has reported a year-on-year sales growth of 29.66 per cent in the month of October 2022; however, the company’s month-on-month sales declined by 3.42%. Hyundai India has sold 48,001 units in October 2022 as against 37,021 units in the same month last year. The company has exported 10,005 vehicles last month as opposed 6,535 units in October 2022, reporting a year-on-year export growth of 53.10%.
Commenting on the October 2022 sales, Mr. Tarun Garg, Director (Sales, Marketing & Service), Hyundai Motor India Ltd. said, “With the ever-improving semi-conductor situation, we were able to meet the demand of our beloved customers and deliver their favourite Hyundai cars during the festive season in October.”
Tata Sales October 2022 – 33% Growth
Tata Motors has managed to sell a total of 45,423 units in October 2022 as against 34,155 units in the same month last year. It registered a year on year sales growth of 33 per cent. The brand’s month-on-month sales decline by 5 per cent. In September, Tata Motors sold 47,000 vehicles including EVs in the country. The company’s Pune based plant was planned to shutdown for preventive maintenance and debottlenecking actions that results production decline last month.
In the EV segment, Tata Motors reported a massive year-on-year growth of 158%. The company has sold 4,277 electric vehicles in October 2022 as against 1,660 units in the same month last year.
Mahindra Sales October 2022 – 60.45% Growth
Mahindra & Mahindra has reported a year-on-year sales growth of 60.45%. The company sold 32,226 utility vehicles in October 2022 as against 20,034 units in the same month last year. The brand’s year-to-date growth is event better at 78% YOY with 1,99,278 units sold in FY23 as against 1,12,050 units sold YTD in FY22.
