Jeep Avenger Petrol Version Fully Revealed In Clearest Images

The American SUV maker, Jeep is ready to introduce the production version of the Avenger compact SUV in Europe and other international markets. Set to be brand’s smallest SUV, the new Jeep Avenger is also expected to be launched in our market in 2023-24. The company has only revealed the electric version of the compact SUV; however, the online configurator on Jeep’s Europe website confirms that the small SUV will also come with a turbo petrol engine.

Ahead of the official launch, clearest spy images of the new Jeep Avenger petrol version have been leaked on the Internet. The vehicle spotted without any covers and reveals all the design cues. Moreover, the rear profile shows an exhaust pipe that further confirms that it is a petrol version.

The new Jeep Avenger will be positioned below the Renegade compact SUV. The new compact SUV measures 4.08 meters in length, making it 6 inches shorter than the European-spec Renegade. In fact, the Avenger overall size is similar to a Hyundai Venue on sale in global markets. The SUV has a ground clearance of 200mm, which is best in the category. The SUV has off-road capabilities with 20-degree approach, 20-degree breakover and 32-degree departure angles. The EV comes with short overhangs, and underbody skid plates to protect the battery.

The spotted model appears to be the lower-spec model, as it comes with blacked out front grille devoid of any chrome. It gets a signature 7-slat grille and sleek headlamps and high-mounted LED DRLs, all fitted in a single enclosure. The spotted model has wide air-dam finished in black and their is a slimmer air inlet placed between the grille and the lower air-dam. The fog lamp unit is also placed on the edges of the lower bumper. There is a skid plate positioned right below the bumper.

The Jeep Avenger has thick body cladding all around the body, functional roof rails, pronounced wheel arches, multi-spoke alloy wheels and C-pillar mounted rear door handles. The EV rides on 18-inch wheels; however, the recent spy suggest that the petrol version could get 17- and 18-inch wheels. The rear has similarities with the Compass SUV in terms of overall appearance. It getsX-shaped LED tail-lamps fixed in rectangular shaped enclosure, relatively simple tailgate and blacked-out lower bumper with silver skid plate.

The official images reveal that the Jeep Avenger cabin will feature a 10.25-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen sits atop the dashboard with wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SAT NAV, voice recognition and OTA updates. The lower variants will have 7-inch driver display, while the higher variants will get 10.25-inch display. The dashboard design seems inspired by the Wrangler, featuring a body-coloured contrasting panel across the car’s width, a 3-spoke multi-functional steering wheel, and an open storage shelf on the dashboard. The SUV will come with electrically adjustable front seats with heating and massaging function, ambient lighting, a wireless smartphone charger, auto climate control, and a hands-free power tailgate. The spotted model is devoid of sunroof; however, this feature will come with the top-spec model.

The online configurator confirms that the new Jeep Avenger will be powered by a 100bhp, 1.2-litre GSE turbo petrol engine. The ICE version will be offered with manual gearbox, and the automatic version to come at a later stage. The Avenger is designed and developed on the modular CMP platform that underpins the Peugeot 2008, DS Crossback and Opel Mokka.

The new compact SUV is also expected to be launched in our market. The India-spec model is most likely to measure around 4 meters in length and will cost around Rs 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh. Jeep could also launch the electric version of the SUV, which is claimed to offer a range of up to 550km.
