BMW iX Electric SUV Sold Out On First Day Of Launch

The newly launched BMW iX electric all-wheel drive SUV has received an overwhelming response from buyers. The company has announced that the electric SUV has been completely sold out on the day of launch itself.

The first phase of bookings witnessed a positive response from buyers online and at BMW India dealerships. The company has closed further bookings for the BMW iX electric SUV, and the bookings for second phase will commence in Q1, 2022. Deliveries will start by beginning of April 2022.

We were confident that the first-ever BMW iX will be a sought-after product, but it has truly surpassed all expectations. With all units sold on the first day, we are now preparing to fulfil the demands of other customers who are waiting to own this exclusive electric BMW SAV.”

Launched as a completely-built-up unit (CBU), the new BMW iX electric SUV is available at an introductory price of Rs 1.16 crore (ex-showroom). BMW India Financial Services is offering a complete package for loan, insurance and vehicle services especially designed for the first-ever BMW iX.

It is offered in 5 metallic colour options – Phytonic Blue, Mineral White, Black Sapphire and Sophisto Grey, and an optional BMW Individual Red. It comes with BMW eDrive technology with an integrated drive unit within a single housing that powered by two electric motors (for front and rear axles), single-speed transmission and power electronics. The BMW iX xDrive 40 produces 326bhp of power and 630Nm of torque.

It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph acceleration in just 6.1 seconds. Using 150kW DC Charger, the battery can be charged up to 80% in just 31 minutes. With 50kW DC Charger and 11kW AC Charger, the SUV achieve 80% and 100% charging status in 73 minutes and 7 hours respectively.
