The first teaser image of the upcoming Royal Enfield Super Meteor and Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 has emerged on the web. Both models appear production ready and are likely to launch by mid 2022. The 650cc premium cruiser and bobber motorcycles will be the most expensive RE bikes in the country. Here’re key details of the upcoming RE Super Meteor 650 and RE Shotgun 650.
Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650
In the company’s Indian product lineup, the Super Meteor 650 will sit above the RE Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. The model might derive its design inspiration from the KX Concept. Upfront, the bike will feature a circular headlamp and a large visor for wind protection. It will have a low slung and sit on longer wheelbase than the 650cc twins. Some of its key features will include a typical cruiser-like large 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels with thick tyres, forward foot pegs, a fatter rear fender, round taillamps and turn indicators and a twin-pipe exhaust system.
The RE Super Meteor 650 will be equipped with USD front forks and twin shock absorbers rear suspension units. Braking power will come from the front and rear disc brakes along with the dual-channel ABS. It’s likely to offer a digital instrument console with tripper navigation.
Royal Enfield Shotgun 650
The RE Shotgun 650 will be the production-ready version of the Royal Enfield SG650 concept that was recently unveiled at the 2021 EICMA motor show in Italy. The concept shows the brand’s new design language featuring brushed aluminum and black colourway, round headlamp with integrated position lights and a single seat unit. Its tank and wheels are CNC billet machined built from a solid block of aluminum.
The RE SG650 concept has fat Metzeler tyres, USD front forks and twin shock absorbers at the rear. Its production version (Royal Enfield Shotgun 650) is likely to retain most of the design elements and features from the concept.
